If you don’t have much time or trekking is not your thing, then the best solution would be to rent an SUV with a driver who will take you through the main hills and valleys in 3-5 hours. You will be able (if the weather is good) to enjoy gorgeous views of the Carpathian Mountains, get acquainted with specially trained Hutsuls about their way of life, and also taste local cheeses and wine. Of course, a lot will depend on the driver-tour guide (on his performance). We were lucky that our driver Roman (096-181-70-73) turned out to be very nice and cheerful. His fanaticism for mushrooms, which he seemed to find, was a little annoying at first (the payment is hourly :-), but then it became a feature (quintessence :-) of the whole tour :-))). You have to understand that the main entertainment of such safaris is searching for mushrooms and enjoying the views, and, of course, off-road with hard shaking, which you begin to get used to in the second half of the trip :-). You can choose the route and duration of the safari yourself (if you know where and how much you are willing to spend). We traveled with the lowest price tag at that time - 800 UAH/hour (about $20 at that time).
