Buddhist temple Buddha in the rock, Ella

Here we must say thank you to our guide-driver. We would never have noticed this rock temple. And all because the famous (now also to us) 11-meter statue of Buddha is turned away from the road and you can see the Buddha in the rock only by going down to the temple. This is not a remake, but the ancient history of religion. The monks are praying, I want to speak in a whisper. You are immersed in peace and quiet. And right by the road there is an altar with a figurine of Buddha and a cobra above it. Passing Buddhists stop specially to make a donation. The place is not overrun by tourists and is revered by locals. A must visit.
