Stone Town (Zanzibar)

📍 Zanzibar | 🗓 High Season | 📅 14.03.2016 — 25.03.2016
Group tour: 77 $
Private tour: 49.52 $
One of those places where the main attraction for tourists is the narrow streets of the old town. Moreover, I don’t mean the promenade of shops, but the streets with shops for locals. They are very easy to distinguish... all prices there are in shillings, not dollars. The House of Miracles, the old fort, is in a deplorable state, the walls are being eaten away by fungus. The House of Miracles was torn down by restorers (the clock tower fell). Against this background, Freddie Mercury's house is just an oasis :-). If you walk around the city on your own, and this is exactly what you should do, then set aside at least five hours in the afternoon for this. During this time you will have time to walk around, admire the surroundings, and have a pleasant time in one of the restaurants. And you can get to the city by taxi for 40-45 dollars in both directions (driver only), or 70 dollars (driver - guide). You can hire a guide on the spot; they offer their services in the Forothani garden for 10-25 dollars. Then you will need less time for sightseeing, but you are unlikely to be led into trashy streets for locals. The choice is yours!!!
