Budde's Beach Restaurant, Hikkaduwa

We are coming to Hikkaduwa for the third time and again we are at Budde's. Why did we come here a couple of times after looking at other places and realized that it is optimal here. The main thing is the entrance to the ocean. The relief of the bottom changes from year to year, we are convinced of this with our own eyes. Two years ago, there was no ice for swimming here, it dragged into the ocean, last year the sand washed and it became comfortable to swim, a cove was formed, but this year the spit has washed out and you can swim comfortably only up to high tide, then the waves do not crash like a child. The umbrellas are screwed so that only half of the sunbed is covered with shade (the sunbed is not movable). But this is about the beach, now about the restaurant. Trout beer is already in the can (the taste is not the same), the waiter Lyolik (that's what I call him) became forgetful, instead of fish with sauce he brought shrimp, but they processed it, it's not terrible, there are no complaints about the dish itself, the portion is large and tasty. And now the fact is, the waiter is getting old, they don't want to invest in updating the inventory and only the ocean somehow collects a contingent from the nearby hotels, deprived of its sandy beach. Prices for happy hours are taken as the norm in other restaurants, and secondly, prove that you took the drink during this period. And I don't settle right away. Only after Russian abuse did they agree to a discount. There is another interesting feature, when the bill runs up, they try to calculate you, and I have a reflex, I have to transfer to another institution. Among the pluses, I can note the presence of a decent toilet (even with toilet paper :-)
